Who Are We?

Happy Dogs Rescue is a Kansas City based dog rescue group, hence  Kansas City area. All of our dogs stay in foster homes and are brought to our adoption events where they can meet potential new families. Check the box on the right for information on our next adoption event. more >>

Another Happy Tail

Just a quick note to let you know how well Shadow is doing. Well, he smiles all the time now!

Shadow watches Gus do the "high-five"

He has learned come, sit, stay, lay down, shake, roll over. And now for the fun part (we could tell, he knew this was a permanent home at this point) he loves the tunnel (going through and sometimes over) and clears 24inch jumps with great ease. I've gotten him to go through the tire but Bruce has not yet. We have not spent too much time with the weave poles yet since the guides used for training have not been made yet since they just slowed Gus down and he preferred not having them (he would knock them off in class with his speed!)

He is still shy with people but loves all the neighbor's dogs. He will get a lot of socializing this coming week with our son home from college and his friends visiting.

Shadow is fitting in nicely with our home and routine and keeps Gus busy checking up on him (and wrestling and playing tag.) He particularly likes stuffed toys that play music.
