MYRTLE is a character! Her wrinkled face gives her a very serious or
sad look, but she's actually a loving and happy girl. She's
definitely a "mutt" by any definition. One of those "Heinz 57" dogs
whose genetics are truly unknown. We're guessing that she has some
hound and maybe some Rhodesian Ridgeback in her, but she is basically
an All-American Hybrid!
Myrtle has short brown fur with some black accents and markings. She
is around one year of age, very solidly built, at about 65 lbs. She
is incredibly strong and we're working on some leash manners.
Off-leash in the yard, she behaves well and likes to be near her
people. Myrtle is very friendly with people and she loves to go on
walks! She's already housetrained and her favorite thing in the world
is a Kong toy stuffed with peanut butter.
Myrtle came to us from the Ray of Hope program, out of the KCKS
animal control shelter with help from the Humane Society of Greater
KC. Her previous background is unknown, other than that she wound up
in the pound as a stray dog with a bad skin condition - which has
improved greatly in our care and with good nutrition. She's now in
excellent health! As with many large stray or dumped dogs, Myrtle was
overlooked for adoption and she simply ran out of time at the pound.
She's now spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and on monthly
heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $100.
Please email us for more information about the very sweet Miss
Myrtle, or to request an adoption application.
