Matilda
Adopted!

Matilda is an English Mastiff, a new member of our rescue. She was on "death row" at an area pound and we were lucky to learn of her situation and help her out. She is approximately 2 years of age and will weigh about 130 at a healthy weight. She came to us fairly thin and with some minor skin issues. She is improving every day and thanks to her great appetite, is filling out nicely! Matilda is spayed, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative (and on monthly prevention), and she has been wormed and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200.

Matilda's personality is stellar; a typical Mastiff! She is laid-back and seems to be fine with other dogs. She is not yet cat-tested. Older kids (over the age of 5) would also most likely be fine. Unless you have owned a Mastiff before, please read about this wonderful breed before inquiring about Matilda. The Mastiff Club of America has a helpful FAQ page here: http://mastiff.org/MASTIFFFAQ.htm

While Mastiffs are charming gentle giants, they are not for everyone. As you will read in those FAQs and in other literature about the breed, they can be very messy creatures. They often like to dig. They drool. A lot. (Many Mastiff owners carry a "slobber rag" for this purpose.) A Mastiff's farts can clear a room. They snore and snore loudly. While they have short fur, they do shed.

Please email us for more information about Matilda or to request an adoption application.
