Henry is fairly new to our group. This poor kid must have had a really
tough start in life. When we first took him in, he had several pretty
rough-looking scars on his body. Fortunately, he responded well to
medications and is looking and feeling much better now! Henry behaves
as if he had been abused or even beaten in the past. He is hand-shy
and cringes at any kind of sudden movements. We are working with him
on this slowly, but because of his reactions, we'll want to place him
in a home with NO young children. Because kids tend to run and play,
making sudden loud noises and movements... and these could be too
frightening for Henry.
We think Henry was born in November 2009. He weighs around 42 lbs and
seems to be a Shepherd "mutt mix." He has a cute little face and his
black markings make him look a bit like a raccoon! He is very sweet
and friendly and his confidence has improved by leaps and bounds in
the few weeks we've had him... he does trust people but is still
afraid if you reach for him suddenly. He has been fine with other
dogs if introduced carefully, so that he doesn't feel overwhelmed.
Cats are unknown.
