My name is Bashful (the Beautiful!) and I am a sleek black Lab/Hound/?? mix female with a white chest and two white-tipped paws. My “stand up” ears give me an inquisitive/curious look which matches my personality. I am 4-yrs old, both housetrained and crate-trained, and weigh about 50 lbs.

I got the name Bashful because I was born in a litter of seven (think Snow White) but it turns out I really am quite shy. I have never been abused, just naturally slow to warm up to new people. Once I do, though, I am a very sweet and loving girl!

My apprehension around strangers is limited to the two-legged variety – I LOVE other dogs. I would actually prefer a home with another dog to keep me company.

HOBBIES:
My favorite pastime is chasing squirrels. If you let me, I would probably spend most of the day sitting under a tree waiting (hoping!) that one will slip and fall. I also enjoy going for long walks. Initially I may be hesitant, but once I get used to the neighborhood you’ll likely find me at the front door wagging my tail in anticipation. Just be sure to hold on tight in case we pass any squirrels along the way… Indoors I’m more low-key, happy to just hang out and observe. I also enjoy a good nap.

MY IDEAL FAMILY:
* Patience is a must, as it really does take me awhile to come out of my shell
* Must also have a fenced yard and live in the KC metro area
* Relatively calm household would be best
* Preferably another dog to show me the ropes

I am current on vaccinations and HW prevention, and have also been spayed and microchipped. My adoption fee is $100. Please contact Happy Dogs Rescue to learn more about me, arrange to meet me, or better yet submit an application to adopt me! .

The adoption fee of $100 includes her spay, current vaccinations and wormings; Bashful is also on HW prevention and microchipped.
