Juliet

Juliet is a lovely black and tan purebred German Shepherd. She's about 3 years old and is new to our rescue, as of August 2010. Formerly living outdoors in a chain-link pen 24/7, Juliet wasn't the happiest of girls. She subsequently craves human attention and has some "issues" with other female dogs. Fortunately since joining our rescue, Juliet has bonded with us, learned to trust humans, and has quickly learned housetraining. She is a smart cookie!

Juliet is walking fairly well on-leash and she's very food-motivated, a great thing for training. She's a smaller girl at around 55 lbs.

No cats or small dogs for Juliet, but most medium or larger dogs seem all right, in her opinion! NO YOUNG CHILDREN for Juliet, as she is not used to kids and their sudden noises and movements.

Juliet came to us with no vet care at all, but she is now spayed, fully vaccinated, HW tested (negative), on monthly HW prevention, treated for fleas/ticks and will be microchipped before going to her new home. Her adoption fee is $250.

Ideal home for Juliet will have GSD experience and will understand this very intelligent, strong and active breed. While Juliet is an absolute joy to be around, she is strong-willed and needs continued training and socialization. Please know that this breed is double-coated and sheds year round. Juliet needs more than the "average" amount of daily exercise and being put in the backyard by herself is NOT sufficient. She's very smart, quick to learn, and will be a loyal and loving member of the right family.

German Shepherd experience preferred - or other large, strong breeds.

Kansas city "metro" area only. Children over the age of 10 years OK if have experience with GSDs or other large, active dogs.
