At the horse shows, the people couldn't have
been nicer. All the show folks said we are welcome to ask about future horse
show events (which I will!) and the dogs seemed to have a ball. Friday night
the dogs were: Kermit, Freckles, Shania and Gunther. Saturday night the dogs
were: Kermit, Franklin, Nora and Hershey. The weather was great and it was
nice to be outside.
Kermit got the most attention, but the Bassets did well too - and everyone
got a lot of pets and compliments. I was especially proud of the dogs that
no one barked much (really, at all!) at the horses. They did so very well!
Friday night the Show held what they call the "Stable Dog Contest" and we
entered all our dogs (thanks Lisa for paying their fees); there were maybe
10-12? dogs entered... and WE TOOK FIRST AND SECOND PLACE!!! Kermit won the
blue ribbon, and Freckles won the red. The announcer really talked up the
dogs for us, and let us have a few minutes on the microphone each night as
well.
